This "Before & After" exercise illustrates my art skills as it has progressed throughout these past six weeks of learning concept art. On this particular piece, my initial approach was to draw a demon in a menacing pose with a scythe in a very rough underground environment with lava or fire (seen on the left). However, halfway through the artwork, the image started telling me a different story. I started visualizing a blind demon holding a walking stick in a peaceful pose within a warm environment. I wanted to make this idea a reality and capture it to the best of my abilities (seen on the right). My rendering skills are still evolving, as seen by the lack of texture/detail.
