Okay.. not a vehicle, I know. But I just needed a texture to show off this creature. This one is part of a personal challenge to do 15 to 30 minute sculpts for 30 days, concentrating on getting the general forms in place. I wasn't going for any creature in particular here, though it does seem to me almost a horse type or a dog type.
Anyway, the sculpt I did yesterday I used my own results from the car paint tutorial on a turtle model that I had sculpted. I liked the results, so thought I would use a similar texture. But thought it might be cool to do a "two tone" image.
To get the two tone image, I added a color mix node with the two colors controlled by a musgrave texture in the factor slot. The color output was fed into 3 nodes. One was fed into the diffuse color and another was fed into the corresponding glossy color mix node slot. The remaining output from my multi colored mix node was fed through another mix node where it was mixed with a dark grey to get the dark color needed for the glossy color mix node.
Although I'm not sure I like the color combination, I do like the results that I got in the overall effect.
