Stricken with jealousy at never having a love of his own, Cupid adorns himself with a mask of anguish in order to reflect his intense feelings and hide the shame of his next actions. He begins inflicting couples with feelings of jealousy in order to extinguish their love and cause relationships to combust instead of form. Cupid's skin begins to turn a sick pallor as the jealousy eats him from within as his veins become corrupted.
The ensuing poison of his once benevolent magic begins to shrivel his wings, possibly leading to a crash that causes his own demise.
