Finally had a chance to get back to this!
I took a few steps back to the un-posed bust, and did a retopo manually. (I haven't had much practice at this!) 1600 verts, and I realise now a little too few on the hair. Multi res and shrink wrap at 100k verts (perhaps too few - it looks a little simplified) and then finishing at a max of 1.6 mill verts.
I tried the new cycles bake to get a normal and AO texture for the 100k version, and that is the submitted image. I think I lost a little character that I had earlier, particularly in lips and eyes, but it's all educational!
Thank you so much Doris, I've never modelled anything remotely like this, nor followed a video tutorial so closely or learnt so much from one. I really appreciate it!
