This image is an illustration for an article on big data in GTB magazine June 2013 for a statistic from an Experton report. I wanted to give it the appeal of really big masses of digital data moving through the network. The set up is very simple (text font plus a plane with the statistic (actually an MS powerpoint diagram exported plus a background plane)). The movement and layer effect was achieved through compositing with a directional blur and several blurs for glow, but this is actually only one text plane!).
