Made with Blender 2.64 test build, rendered in Blender Internal with Full sample and Oversample turned on all the materials, as well as Dithering at 2 in the render settings, and Cubic Interpolation on the materials to get rid of banding issues.
In other words, the combination of Dithering(post-processing in the render settings), and Cubic Interpolation(material settings), get rid of banding. Oversample(material settings), and Full Sample(render settings) help a lot with AA issues.
