I like Mac, but they sure aren't very powerful

  • Michal Zisman(michalzisman)

    Hahaha Omar

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

Ton mentioned in his siggraph report that he talked to mac people and they're going to make sure the Blender /Open GL thing is worked out. But still, Apple haven't been throwing power users any bones in the desktop dept over the past 5 years

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended)

michalzisman but it's fun! It's like playing with very expensive Legos

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

You repair war tanks Michal, I could by a PC from you for sure

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

Ooo great suggestion silent. I'll definitely take advantage of that

  • Michal Zisman(michalzisman)

Girly alert- my husband takes care of PC stuff hehe

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended)

Yeah don't forget that Apple is going to stop supporting OpenGL on Macs as well. But I like to focus more on hardware than software anyways.

  • Thibaut Bourbon(tbrbn)

Linux is fine, I use it a lot at work. It only requires some maintenance from time to time but there's always good forum to get help.

@theluthier pcpartpicker is a great site to pick out parts and make sure they work together. Pcpartpicker checks that they'll work.

Alike is a 2015 3D computer-animated short film directed by Daniel Martinez Lara and Rafa Cano Mendez. The animation production took 4 years to complete along with the help of ex-animation students using Blender. The animated short is a story of the relationship of a father and his son who live in a society "where order and work ethic literally choke the colour and creativity out of its inhabitants". -Wikipedia

Alike is one of the most acclaimed Blender short films to date, having received numerous awards at film festivals and viewed over 10 million times across the internet. Join Kent Trammell, Jonathan Lampel, and Tim Von Rueden for a riveting discussion about the film and bring popcorn! Also some tissues because it's a tear-jerker.
