In this video, at 1min 37sec, you click on the mix shaders and it automatically gets routed to the Material Output simply by clicking on it. How does this happen please?

Everytime I attempt to render my images my pc craches at around frame 10 or 11. I have loads of ram and a good processor. Any suggestions? My video card is a geforce gtx 1070

This is great!! Alternative solutions when needed... I know I'll forget this unless I practice, but argh! I hope I remember as much as possible! I do some weird stuff with my meshes.
