Another one I found relatively recently that I like is Select Loops -> Select Loops Inner Region. It's a great tool for selecting an area inside of a selection and even works with multiple loops selected. I use this a lot when working with creating clothing or selecting a part of a model like an arm, a leg, an eye bag, mouth bag, etc.
