hi, i was wondering if its possible to transfer the low poly data to the mesh which i already used to transfer and reshape the level 4 details like it's shown in the video. Basically I'm referring to when is needed to update my high poly sculpt (make changes to the nose lets say that effect the shape without the need of extra topology) but i already made the whole thing of retopology then shrinkwrap a second multires mesh and transfer and reshape the level 4 data to the actual multires mesh. i thought if its possible to transfer the level 4 data it would be possible to transfer the 0 level data but to my surprise it shows an error saying that you can only reshape higher levels and not he base mesh at level 0. Is there a way around this or I'll have to use an updated retopology mesh and transfer the data again of level 4 with reshape to a completely new multires mesh.
Update: I just discovered the conform base option under the shape category in the multires modifier. It seems that it does a much better job than Apply base and keep the mesh closer to the original while keeping the changes of the higher sub levels. first limitation is that it doesn't work if i have shape keys. Is this a reliable way to do things or Shrink wrap high poly and do the multires stack from the begging?
Update 2: After spending all night I found a developer discussion from the developers who implemented the conform base option under the shape category in the multires modifier. This option is designed to solve exactly what I asked and removes the need to shrink wrap the mesh again after making adjustments in the higher levels. The initial name of this option was apply base shrinked and it does what the name says. It’s like shrink wrap the base mesh as close as possible to the high levels but with the click of a button.
