I'm rewatching the sculpting series by Kent here and have been updating/ filling out my notes. I had a feeling there were more hidden keyboard shortcuts for masking since it's just a big part of sculpting. I found there were some set by default for the lasso masking. I've added those to the list as well as the ones Kent goes through in this video for others to quickly copy and paste to their own notes.
Masking
- Mask edit pie menu = a
- paint mask with positive = m then LMB drag
- paint mask with negative = ctrl + LMB drag
- add lasso mask = shift + ctrl + RMB drag ("front faces only" found under mask lasso gesture in prefs)
- remove lasso mask = ctrl = RMB drag ("front faces only" found under mask lasso gesture in prefs)
- clear mask = alt + m
- invert mask = ctrl + i
- mask entire object = ctrl + i from cleared mask
- expand mask by topology = shift + a + mouse drag
- expand mask by normals = shift + alt + a + mouse drag
Face sets
- hide face set = mouse hover + h
- unhide face set = mouse hover + shift + h
