Just a suggestion to parent the Circle and Lattice to the tread strip.
I added a Simple Deform Strech before I saw the Lattice lesson. They both have good but slightly different results. I added the Simple Deform at the end f the Modifier Stack, it seems to work best at that position but I like the Lattice modifier. I wish I thought of that, lol.
